Our quality 1.25" Barlow Lens will double the magnification of any eyepiece inserted into it while at the same time preserving the "eye relief" of the eyepiece. For example instead of using a 10mm eyepiece with a tiny eye lens and poor eye relief you can use a 20mm eyepiece in a Barlow. The magnification will be the same as the 10mm, but with the larger more comfortable lens and eye relief of the 20mm eyepiece! This also essentially doubles your eyepiece collection.
A Barlow is also often required to reach focus with a camera on a Reflector type scope. The Barlow extends the focal length of the scope, which pushes the prime focal point up out of the focuser so it can reach the camera. This Barlow has an integral "T" Threaded top, great for attaching cameras to Reflectors with limited Back-Focus.
